Taking Ownership of the Environment

Taking Ownership of the Environment

People’s Food Co-op believes that a key part of caring for a community is caring for the environment. The co-op’s Rochester, Minnesota, location has installed energy-efficient heating system and lights in their displays, but one of its largest efforts has been in waste management. The store’s composting system redirects up to 80 percent of what would have otherwise gone into a landfill. While this new method does save money, the real value is in helping to make the environment as healthy as the food the co-op sells. #ourcooperativestory

We’re not just here for profit, but we have impact on what’s going on outside of our walls as well.
